Description
Smart Hedge [PRO] is an advanced trading robot that uses a hedging strategy. When the market moves against an open position, the robot prevents further losses by opening an opposite position. At the same time, it continues to increase the volume of positions until the entire basket of orders is closed with a profit.
To operate, the robot activates Hedge Mode on the exchange. In this mode, two opposite positions on the same asset can exist simultaneously, allowing for effective risk management.
Key Parameters
symbols — List of Assets
This is the list of cryptocurrency pairs the robot trades.
runMode — Operating Mode
Demo: Trades with "paper money" without using real funds.
Real: Live trading with your exchange account.
sizeUsd — Initial Position Size
The size of the first position is calculated using the formula:
sizeUsd = (balanceUsd * riskFactor) / symbols count
Example: If the balance is $1000, the list contains 10 assets, and the risk factor is 1:
sizeUsd = 1000 * 1 / 10 = $100
rbLevelsSizeFactor — Position Size Increase Coefficient
Specifies how much the volume of the next position increases.
Example with rbLevelsSizeFactor = 0.3:
Level 1: Initial position = $100, next position = $100 × 0.3 = $30. Total position = $130.
Level 2: Next position = $130 × 0.3 = $39. Total position = $169.
Level 3: Next position = $169 × 0.3 = $50.7. Total position = $219.7.
rbLevelsPercentStep — Percentage for Opening New Positions
Sets the price change step after which the robot opens a new position considering the rbLevelsSizeFactor.
gapPercent — Hedging Threshold
If the asset price drops by the specified percentage (gapPercent), the robot opens an opposite position to minimize losses.
basketProfit — Minimum Profit Level
Once the total profit of all open positions reaches the specified percentage, the robot closes all positions and secures the profit. After that, the cycle restarts with the base position size (sizeUsd).
Examples of Operation
Example 1: Opening and Increasing Positions
- Balance: $1000, list of assets: 10, rbLevelsSizeFactor = 0.3, initial position = $100.
- Price drops by 5% (rbLevelsPercentStep = 5), the robot opens the next position: $100 × 0.3 = $30. Total position = $130.
- Price drops another 5%, the robot opens a new position: $130 × 0.3 = $39. Total position = $169.
Example 2: Hedging Positions
- The asset price drops by 10% (gapPercent = 10).
- The robot opens an opposite position of the same size to prevent further losses.
Example 3: Fixing Profits
- The robot increases position volumes until the total profit reaches 2% (basketProfit = 2).
- Once the target is achieved, all positions are closed, and the profit is secured. A new cycle starts with the minimum position size.
